cancun photo editorial one
July 22nd - July 29th // The last time I was somewhere tropical was Aruba about six years ago. I had picked out the resort from a photograph in a Triple A magazine, and not much time later we hopped on a plane out of Hartford. This time around, the trip plans weren't in my hands so much. I'd heard a lot about Cancun from infamous spring break stories, but my dad had booked the trip back in December as a surprise at an all-inclusive resort in Riviera Maya. A week-long relaxing (and a little surreal) family and friend getaway - filled with beach time, pool time, and a tequila sunrise or two.
One hot tub per room. Room service included. Personal photographer not included, please use self-timer or artsy friend in pursuit of capturing your aesthetically pleasing week-long lifestyle.
I imagine luxury to be closets filled with fluffy hotel robes. My love for these robes is probably incredibly related to my love for cardigans - which already somewhat fill my closet, but would not recommend for a warm, sunny morning in Mexico.
We stayed at the Now Sapphire resort - a beautiful and relaxing home for a week in Mexico. Resort vacations don't often leave you cultured, and this place was no exception. But the people were incredibly friendly, and so I picked up on what I could in conversation.
Many mornings we took breakfast in bed beachside and enjoyed the red and gold color scheme I've only previously experienced in french fries and ketchup.
Love always, Marisa
